ZNC vs IRSSI Proxy

I have been using IRSSI and it’s proxy feature to keep a running connection to freenode. While I play road warrior with the laptop. With a bit of down time over the holidays I came across ZNC. While not a new project it is new to me. I found that it’s features set and project focus is what I was trying to have IRSSI do for me. This IRC bouncer they call it is quite mature now and has many module for expansion.. check it out at http://wiki.znc.in/ZNC

T-Mobile Testing Android 2.1 Update for Motorola CLIQ

This only took a year.  I’ve already dumped my CLIQ and bought a Nexus one.. love android now. and the nexus.  Never again will I buy a motorola smartphone.  cause I’ll bet you still can’t root them.

T-Mobile Testing Android 2.1 Update for Motorola CLIQ: “

T-Mobile confirmed to Phone Scoop via email that it is currently testing the Android 2.1 update for the Motorola CLIQ. A T-Mobile spokesperson said, ‘Motorola and T-Mobile are currently conducting a user trial for a CLIQ upgrade to Android 2.1 and are gathering feedback. We expect full deployment to begin shortly after this testing period.’ Meanwhile, Motorola has posted instructions on its web site on how to perform a manual update to Android 2.1.

Russian Company Buys ICQ: “An anonymous reader writes ‘AOL has sold ICQ to Digital Sky Technologies (DST), Russia’s largest Internet company, for US$187.5 million. DST’s offer was apparently more attractive than those of Russia’s ProfMedia and China’s Tencent. ICQ, originally released in 1996 and bought by AOL in 1998 for US$407 million, was one of the world’s first major instant messaging systems. Although largely forgotten in English-speaking countries, it remains widely popular in Central Europe, Russia, and Israel.
